A day with Firefox 3

... long story short? OK, downloaded Firefox 3 Beta 4 last night before going to bed, started using it today to see if I can finally really use it (I had some problems with it before - I guess Beta 1 or earlier). And well, as I wrote later today on Twitter:

Hm.... so far I see absolutely no reason to switch back from Firefox3 beta to Firefox2. Great

Accesskeys on PennyArcade

Yet another probably for most people out there quite useless Greasemonkey script. It simply adds "n" as accesskey to navigate to the next comic strip and "b" to navigate to the previous comic strip on Penny Arcade as soon as you're viewing a strip.

Funny license sections. Today? The del.icio.us Firefox extension

For the last couple of days I'm now using Del.icou.us exclusively for managing my bookmarks thanks to the new and improved Del.icio.us extension directly by Yahoo! which is available on the Firefox Add-ons page. For now I'm quite happy with it since I only had a handful of bookmarks outside of Del.icio.us anyway

PowerPC optimized Firefox builds

Being a browser jumper it normally only takes a really small reason for switching browsers again after having used one for some time without any problems. So it happened somewhen last week, that I once again went from Firefox to Safari. And the reason? Performance.

Debugging JavaScript with Firebug

Seems like Firebug is more any more becoming one of the most powerful webdevelopment extensions for Firefox. Justin Palmer wrote an in-depth report about some of the new features Firebug will have in it's next release. According to this article there will be breakpoints, logging, tracing etc. facilities to make debugging JavaScripts much easier. Finally now alerts anymore

What's in my cache?

While playing a little bit around with JavaScript I noticed something quite funny: If you want to know, what your browser has cached (at least what Opera8 or Firefox have cached ) simply enter "opera:cache" for Opera8 or "about:cache" in your browser's address bar.
