For the last couple of months, or to be honest since I got my Powerbook, I wanted to get into development on Macs for Macs. So I've been playing around with Objective-C for example to integrate one of my scripts with Safari and things like that.

This summer I finally want to take the time to do something with Cocoa and GUIs and am therefor looking for some good books about this topic as addition to the articles available on Apple's developer site.

Simon Willison just did something that will probably save me a week or so on my way to django@zerokspot: He released an OpenID consumer app for django.

From what I've read so far, this one doesn't (yet!) integrate itself into Django's auth subsystem, but provides a session middleware.

Mike Davidson has a nice article on his blog about the evil of pagination for articles. As he said, it's a cheap way of getting more ad-clicks per article that doesn't really benefit the actual user, although quite a few content providers will probably state, that they only did it to make reading easier for the user.

I really like to browse the web using the keyboard only, esp. when I'm working not at home and on my laptop notebook. For these occassions accesskeys have always made my life much easier.

Remember my little download tool for IGN? Well, as I said back then, it works mainly thanks to the great cookie integration you can have between Firefox and wget. But what if you're using WebKit/Safari?

Famous podcaster Leo Laporte yesterday announced that he would no longer use Twitter but move to their Finnish competitor Jaiku. Ok ... but he also wrote:

Ever since I started writing on django@zerokspot I wondered whether I should really write reviews about books. While I like a certain kind of writing probably as much as the next guy ... with SciFi literature and also more or less with any novel it by far doesn't matter as much to me as the world that is described in it.

There is really not much more I can say about this. While 0.99EUR/USD definitely would have been nice, this deal is still a great first step into the right direction and I really hope, that the other major labels will follow EMI's lead in this.
